Sheela Gowda (born 1957 in Bhadravati, India[1]) is a contemporary artist run and working in Bangalore.
Gowda studied painting at Ken Educational institution of Art, Bangalore, India (1979) pursued a postgraduate diploma pleasing Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, India (1982), and a MA in photograph from the Royal College be successful Art in London in 1986. Trained as a painter Gowda expanded her practice into mould and installation employing a deviation of material like human throw down, cow-dung, incense and kumkuma pounce (a natural pigment most ofttimes available in brilliant red).
